As The Flash signs off with its final episode ever, there is one original member of Team Flash who won’t be returning for the show’s big sendoff.

On May 24, The Flash will come to an end after nine seasons and over 180 episodes. It’s hard to think of the show coming to a close, or the fact that with its end comes a close to the Arrowverse as we know it.

While the final season of The Flash has been full of ups and downs, one of the highlights of the show’s farewell season has been the ability to bring back familiar faces from the past as part of the show’s farewell run. From Stephen Amell and Javicia Leslie to Sendhil Ramamurthy and Rick Cosnett, the final episodes have featured some truly amazing returns as part of the show’s sendoff.

Ahead of the series finale, speculation has been growing over who might pop up in the final episode of the season and there’s no telling who might make a surprise appearance in the show’s series finale. There is, however, one original member of the show’s cast who fans won’t be seeing: Carlos Valdes.

Is Carlos Valdes coming back for The Flash series finale?

Sadly, Carlos Valdes will not be making a return in the final episode of The Flash to reprise his role as Cisco Ramon one last time on the show. Ahead of the series finale, Entertainment Weekly confirmed that Valdes is not slated to return for the finale episode of The CW’s hit superhero series meaning we won’t be seeing Cisco join his former Team Flash teammates in battle before the show signs off the air for good.

While Valdes will not appear as Cisco, it has been reported that all other original members of the cast will appear in the as every main cast member who was there at the beginning is expected to make an appearance.

Why isn’t Cisco in The Flash series finale?

Although there was a hope that Carlos Valdes would return to cameo as Cisco in the series finale of The Flash, Valdes ultimately was unable to return for the series finale due to his busy schedule. As Valdes explained to EW, he was hoping to return but due to conflicts with work on other projects he was attached to he simply could not accommodate The Flash‘s filming schedule.

"“Honestly, there was no way to make it happen with regards to my schedule and just all the different creative ventures and life circumstances that I was trying to juggle at that time. I couldn’t really make it work, which was really heartbreaking to me because I thought, if I decided to step away from the show, at the very least I have to be there for the finale to round this thing out and to really honor the full circle-ness of it. It was really heartbreaking to not be able to make it work.”"
