14. Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982)

Halloween is a franchise that has been around for over four decades, and with such a long lifespan, there are bound to be some duds in the mix. And boy, do we have some stinkers! Two of the most notorious Halloween movies that come to mind are Halloween III: Season of the Witch and Halloween: Resurgence.

Let’s start with Halloween III: Season of the Witch. Now, the title alone should have raised some eyebrows. Halloween without Michael Myers? Say what now? As it turns out, the filmmakers decided to take a break from the Michael Myers storyline and do something completely different. And what did we get? Witches. Yes, you read that right, witches. There was no place for witches in the world of Michael Myers, yet we got it, and boy did it disappoint.

There are many who like to try to forget that Halloween III existed and we honestly don’t blame them. The film was the worst the franchise had to offer and we hope no other film is able to take the crown as the last thing we want is a movie worse than Halloween III: Season of the Witch.

13. Halloween: Resurgence (2012)

Halloween: Resurgence tried its best to be a bridge between the first and fourth installments, but it honestly didn’t do a good job. It was like watching a Frankenstein monster of a movie, with different parts stitched together in a haphazard way that did not work at all. The plot was convoluted, the acting was stale, and the scares were non-existent.

It was as if the filmmakers were trying to milk the franchise for all it was worth, without putting in any effort to make a quality film.

Halloween III: Season of the Witch and Halloween: Resurgence are two of the worst Halloween movies in the franchise. They are the cinematic equivalent of a pumpkin that has been left out in the sun for too long – shriveled, rotten, and just plain sad.
