Spider-Man: Far From Home is the first Spider-Man movie not set in New York City! How about that? Well, that’s not totally true. In Spider-Man: Homecoming, they do take a little trip to Washington D.C., but the main part of the movie is in New York.

Far From Home is the sequel to Homecoming, and it’s Tom Holland’s second Spider-Man movie. The movie is set after the events of Avengers: Endgame and the return of half the population.

In the movie, Peter takes a school trip to Europe with his classmates, but his plans are disrupted when he is recruited by Nick Fury to team up with Mysterio to fight a group of powerful, interdimensional beings known as the Elementals. There’s more going on than it initially appears.

We also get some great Peter-MJ moments in Far From Home. While the movie suffers from a stakes problem (it was hard to ramp up the drama following Endgame), Mysterio is a great part of this story. Changing the setting was a nice little change of pace for the film series and broader Peter Parker story.

Now, we’re going back to the beginning.
