The synopsis for Superman and Lois season 3 episode 12, “Injustice”, features the arrival of Superman’s archenemy Lex Luthor, who will be brought to life by Michael Cudlitz.

Before the third season of The CW’s Superman & Lois graced the small screen, fans knew that Lex Luthor was coming to the show and that he would not be portrayed by Supergirl‘s Jon Cryer. The Arrowverse-adjacent show has opted for a different take on Lex, who will be played by The Walking Dead star, Michael Cudlitz.

The character’s introduction has been set up by recent events on the show, with Lois Lane recently discovering that the kingpin criminal had been put in prison two decades ago for a crime he didn’t commit. It turns out that Peia, a.k.a. Onomatopoeia and the wife of Bruno Mannheim, framed him for the murder of Boss Moxie.

This has made Lois question if Luthor deserves to be released, because even if he is innocent for this crime, he committed plenty more. But it seems as if that release is set to take place, because we know Cudlitz will debut in an upcoming episode of Superman and Lois.

Lex Luthor arrives in Superman and Lois season 3 episode 12

As reported by KryptonSite, The CW has released the official synopsis for the twelfth episode of Superman and Lois season 3, titled “Injustice”. It reads as follows:

"“MICHAEL CUDLITZ “THE WALKING DEAD” GUEST STARS – Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) and Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) clash with Jordan (Alex Garfin) over his carelessness around using his powers in public, while Jonathan (Michael Bishop) struggles with Kyle (Erik Valdez) change in behavior at the firehouse. Meanwhile, Sarah (Inde Navarrette) grows frustrated with Lana (Emmanuelle Chriqui) after she accidentally makes things more complicated with Jordan. And finally, after seventeen years behind bars, Lex Luthor (guest star Michael Cudlitz (“The Walking Dead”) set to be released from prison."

With the stakes having been raised by the tenth episode “Collision Course” with Kyle Cortez now knowing Clark’s secret and the possibility of Jordan’s own secret being exposed, it is quite clear that tensions are running high in Superman and Lois season 3 as the show heads towards its season 3 finale. And whatever may take place after the upcoming eleventh episode “Complications” will seemingly result in Luthor’s release. The question is who is going to be caught in the crossfire?

As Superman fans and most viewers are fully aware, while the Man of Steel and Lois Lane’s intentions are pure, Luthor is the last person you want to let out of a cell due to a technicality!

Superman & Lois stars Tyler Hoechlin, Elizabeth Tulloch, Alex Garfin, Michael Bishop, Erik Valdez, Inde Navarrette, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Dylan Walsh, Wolé Parks, Tayler Buck, Sofia Hasmik, and Chad L.
