Liam Hemsworth will be taking over the role of Geralt of Rivia from Henry Cavill in The Witcher season 4, and this amazing clip gives us an idea of what that could look like.
Henry Cavill’s time as Geralt of Rivia is coming to an end. The beloved actor confirmed last year that he would be standing down from his leading role on Netflix’s The Witcher (for what people thought would be to return as Superman before that went out the window). In his place going forward will be Liam Hemsworth, as the young actor will be taking over the role of Geralt from season 4 onwards.
Strangely enough, another rumor suggests that he may lose out on another role to another Hemsworth brother. Yeah it’s been a weird year for Henry Cavill fans, who just wanted to see him suit up as Superman in the DCEU before its reboot into the DC Universe.
But it’s not quite the end for Cavill’s Geralt yet, as we still get to enjoy the star’s final outing as the character in The Witcher season 3 when it premieres this summer. The wait hasn’t stopped fans from imagining what Hemsworth’s version of the character could look like.
That imagination came to life when one talented fan created an awesome video clip that gives us an idea of what Hemsworth’s Witcher could be like.
What Liam Hemsworth might look like in The Witcher season 4 as Geralt
YouTube creator Stryder HD recently took to YouTube to share an awesome clip that envisions what Liam Hemsworth’s portrayal of The Witcher could look like in season 4 of the Netflix series. This isn’t the first time that the YouTube user has given us a glimpse of what Hemsworth could look like in the role, as he has shared multiple fan trailers imagining what season 4 will look like, but it never gets old seeing him in action.
The fan video – named a “First Look” clip – uses DeepFake technology, placing Liam Hemsworth’s likeness over footage of Henry Cavill in The Witcher to give us an idea of what he’ll look like as Geralt of Rivia. To say that he looks the part would be an understatement, and we can’t wait to see him take on the role.
When does Henry Cavill leave The Witcher?
Henry Cavill will depart the show after its third season. Season 3 was filmed between March and September 2022, and during that time there was no indication that the star would leave the show after it wrapped. But in December 2022, it was confirmed that he would not return for future seasons, with it also being confirmed that Liam Hemsworth would replace him.
It was recently revealed that Season 3 will premiere on Netflix in June and that it will be split into two parts, so that means audiences who are fond of Cavill’s iconic portrayal of Geralt can enjoy him in action for two last batches of episodes before his exit. And the episodes will be memorable, too, as showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich confirmed in an interview in 2022 that he would be given a “heroic sendoff”. That sendoff for Cavill will begin with Volume 1 on June 29 and conclude with Volume 2 on July 27.
It will be the end of an era for sure, but we wish Liam Hemsworth the very best in taking over the role!
