10. Jefferson Morales

"“With great ability comes great accountability.” – Jefferson Morales"

Jeff Morales could be the most important person in Miles Morales’ life. Without Jefferson’s speech, Miles may not have had the courage to become Spider-Man. He needed to be reminded that he’s capable. His father provided that in just a couple of minutes. In this movie, his role was lessened. This wasn’t bad by any means; it just wasn’t as inspirational. Actually, Miles had more of an effect on Jefferson’s life than the other way around. Nevertheless, Jefferson was still a fantastic character.

Throughout Across the Spider-Verse, Jefferson was entertaining. For example, his scene chasing Spider-Man and Spot throughout the city perfectly emphasized what was going on in his life. Despite being on his way to becoming a captain, Jefferson still chased criminals – something his coworkers had to appreciate.

At home, he was still a loving father and husband. He never went overboard when dishing out punishment. He may have gotten upset, but there was still love within the yelling. It was also funny watching him up for months while grounding Miles. When it came to being a husband, it was easy to see that Jefferson loved and appreciated everything Rio is. When people talk about relationship goals, they should be at the top of the list.
