Spider-Man: 10 best Across the Spider-Verse characters, ranked

3. Jessica Drew (Spider-Woman)
"“Is it because she called you Dark Garfield?” – Jessica Drew"
Despite needing assistance, Miguel didn’t want to call for help. He knew Jessica Drew would show up and overshadow him. He was right. She rode in on a motorcycle wearing an amazing outfit and immediately took charge of the situation. Then she proceeded to beat up the Vulture, protect civilians, and hold a conversation about Gwen Stacy’s future. She did all of this while pregnant. Viewers couldn’t have asked for a better entrance.
Jessica Drew may not have been the boss, but it was clear that she didn’t do anything she wasn’t comfortable with. When Miguel asked her to catch Gwen, she did follow her. When Jessica found her, she had second thoughts. It looked like she knew what she was doing was wrong. She got close to Gwen while training her for over a year. It only makes sense that she would have an issue with bringing Gwen in or fighting her.
At first, it seemed like Jessica Drew would just be comic relief. This writer should have known better. Issa Rae’s talent would have been wasted if the character was just used for jokes. Plus she’s a fan of Marvel Comics.
The best part is she’s going to be even better in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.
