Star Trek legend William Shatner is beaming up some playful “Daddy” fun from a galaxy far, far away and sending it to Pedro Pascal.

Ladies and gentlemen, there’s a new member in the elite “Daddy” club, and who better to roll out the red carpet than the original space-faring “Daddy,” Star Trek’s legendary William Shatner? Not one to shy away from a little friendly intergalactic banter, Shatner has been engaging in some delightful social media back-and-forth with The Mandalorian’s leading man, Pedro Pascal.

Ahead of Father’s Day, the man known to millions as Captain James T. Kirk has warmly welcomed Pascal to the ranks of “fatherhood”. And to sweeten the occasion, he did it with the flair we’ve all come to expect from the charismatic captain of the Starship Enterprise.

In a social media post that effortlessly bridges the Star Trek-Star Wars divide, Shatner presented Pascal with a playful American Greetings SmashUp Father’s Day card. Shatner’s digital offering has the engaging charm of a phaser set to “stun,” perfectly capturing the good-natured spirit of his message.

What’s more, our favorite Starfleet captain couldn’t resist playfully teasing Pascal with the prospect of his own Father’s Day card someday. The suggestion adds a personal touch, connecting the two iconic actors across the vast expanse of space and time, and the ever-widening galaxies of their respective franchises.

At its core, Shatner’s message playfully pits the well-loved concept of “Daddy” against the modern interpretation of “Internet Daddy.” But as we all know, in the end, a good dad is a good dad, whether his adventures take him to the outer rim territories of Star Wars or the final frontier of Star Trek.

As the anticipation for Father’s Day intensifies, Shatner’s outreach to Pascal carries a dual sentiment – a gentle jest and a heartfelt welcome to the “Daddy” club. Will there be a friendly rivalry over whose card is cooler? Only time will tell. And I’m totally #TeamPedro.

Happy Father’s Day to all you stellar fathers out there!
