Five reasons to be excited for Sony’s Kraven the Hunter movie
By Mark Lynch
Reasons to see Kraven the Hunter: It doesn’t look like Morbius
There are a lot of Spider-Man villains. Unfortunately, it’s difficult to make a movie starring his rogue’s gallery look interesting. Especially without the Wall-Crawler. Nevertheless, it can be done. The first step is producing an attention-grabbing trailer. Kraven the Hunter did this by not looking like Morbius.
Kraven the Hunter knocked it out of the park in one try while Morbius looked bad in each of the trailers. It didn’t help that moviegoers haven’t been high on Jared Leto in years. His portrayal of Joker in Suicide Squad didn’t get him more supporters either. Nevertheless, performers have bad performances. The problem is he followed it up with a dreadful showing as Michael Morbius. Meanwhile, Aaron Taylor-Johnson already looks incredible and people enjoy him.
Reasons to see Kraven the Hunter: A possible Spider-Man appearance
This writer is aware that this is a long shot, but it’s possible. It won’t be Tom Holland since this isn’t his universe, but there’s another probable option. Maybe this is the universe where Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man got dark after Gwen Stacy died. If that’s the case, then the Sinister Six coming together makes sense. They may feel the need to stop Spidey before he goes too far.
If there’s going to be a Sinister Six movie, then their antagonist has to be a draw. The only character that can do that is Spider-Man. The Inheritors are an option, but the same problem comes up. They aren’t interesting without Spidey. Hopefully, Kraven the Hunter drops hints that Spidey is on his way. If not, Sony’s Marvel projects could be shelved.
