The Marvel Comics event Fall of X seemed like the end of the new X-Men era, but it’s far from over for the mutants of Krakoa.

The X-Men event Fall of X has been teased all year. Little clues as to what’s going to happen have been placed throughout comics involving mutants. Recently, Marvel Comics dropped a trailer showing exactly what’s going to happen to the mutants. During the Hellfire Gala, Orchis is going to scatter the mutants all over the world.

As Marvel.com reveals:

"“Epic tragedy and unforgivable betrayals will send mutantkind away from the safety of Krakoa and into one of the darkest periods in X-Men history. A new world map graphic shows just how tumultuous things will be by pinpointing where various titles and characters will end up when FALL OF X begins.”"

In X-Men No. 23, Orchis was making it a point to get Magik’s DNA. It looks like they needed it to use her teleporting abilities. This is likely how Orchis displaces mutants across the world. For example, Wolverine is in Utah and ends up with Ghost Rider, Iceman is in Antarctica (fitting), and Jean Grey’s whereabouts are unknown. Despite Orchis gaining a big victory, the Marvel trailer reveals good news; the X-Men still survive.

This writer assumed that the Fall of X meant that this was the end of the Krakoa era. It appears that the fall was literal. Mutants will be dropping out of the sky and falling to the ground. However, it’s figurative as well.

Orchis thought they could end mutants during the Hellfire Gala. Not only was this not their downfall. It will bring the X-Men and Avengers closer together. Besides the Uncanny Avengers series is restarting, this is probably why Emma Frost and Tony Stark are getting married. Their marriage will bond two of the universe’s greatest heroes together. This display will show the world that mutants and humans can stand together.

The Fall of X event will include current ongoing Marvel comics like Wolverine, X-Force, Immortal X-Men, and more. There are also new books spinning out of the Fall of X. These new ongoing series include these titles and their writers.
