5. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

I hate to say it, but Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is the worst of the Indiana Jones movies. The movie premiered in theaters in 2008, which was 19 years after Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, which is definitely in the running for the title of best Indiana Jones movie.

Set in 1957, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal tells the story of Indiana Jones (Ford) as he searches for a mysterious crystal skull with special powers, along with help from his son, Mutt Williams (Shia LaBeouf). The Russians are also interested in finding the skull, and it’s a race against the clock for Indiana, Mutt, and the Russians.

Kingdom of the Crystal Skull just feels different than the other movies, and that’s a problem. It’s not to say the movie is bad necessarily, but I definitely didn’t enjoy the movie as much as the first three Indiana Jones movies. It will be interesting to see if and how Kingdom of the Crystal Skull affects Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull appears to be the final movie of the franchise directed by Steven Spielberg.
