3. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is the second movie of the Indiana Jones franchise. It was released in theaters in 1984, three years after the release of Raiders of the Lost Ark, but it’s a prequel to Raiders of the Lost Ark, which is set one year later.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is set in 1935 and it follows Indiana on a quest to find missing children and an ancient artifact from a village in India. Indy is aided on this adventure by Short Round (Ke Huy Quan) and Willie Scott (Kate Capshaw), a nightclub singer.

While Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is the third-best movie of the original trilogy, it’s still really good. It’s definitely a tier above Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

In 2023, we also saw Harrison Ford reunite with Ke Huy Quan, who won an Oscar for his role in Everything Everywhere All At Once.

  • Release Year: 1984
  • Director: Steven Spielberg
  • Cast: Harrison Ford, Kate Capshaw, Ke Huy Quan, Amrish Puri, Roshan Seth, and Philip Stone

Up next is Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, the third movie of the franchise.
