9. Zemo

Baron Zemo may not crack the top five of the most diabolical Marvel villains but make no mistake, he is pure evil. This cunning and calculated antagonist has orchestrated a series of sinister acts that have left a lasting impact on the Marvel universe. Zemo has no limits to his evil, from bombing the UN to splitting up the Avengers.

One of Baron Zemo’s most heinous acts was the bombing of the United Nations. In a shocking display of cold-bloodedness, Zemo masterminded an attack that resulted in the deaths of innocent people. Comic book fans know that Zemo’s villainy extends beyond acts of violence. He possesses a sharp intellect that he uses to manipulate and control others, as seen in his calculated plan to tear apart the Avengers.

In the comic book storyline “Avengers Disassembled,” Zemo plays a pivotal role in manipulating events that lead to the team’s internal conflict and eventual disbandment. Through carefully executed schemes and psychological manipulation, Zemo successfully exploits the Avengers’ vulnerabilities, pitting them against each other and sowing seeds that led to our favorite heroes splitting up.

There’s one guy Zemo hates more than anyone, Captain America. His beef with Cap adds another layer to his villainy. Driven by a deep-seated hatred for the Star-Spangled Avenger, Zemo’s actions are fueled by a twisted sense of vengeance. He takes pleasure in targeting those close to Captain America, exploiting their weaknesses and using them as pawns in his wicked game.
