There are layers to Jean that have to be depicted on the big screen. She needs to be vulnerable and endearing when it is necessary, There’s a natural nurturing quality that comes with Jean. And there’s the other side of her. The woman who has been through hell. The hero who experienced death and walked on the dark side. The complexity is exactly what Phoebe Dynevor could bring to life with ease. She’s in her late twenties and a rising star who could portray two versions of Jean. If they wanted something with flashbacks she also has the look to pull off a teen for a few scenes.

For those who want to see adult X-Men in their 20s or early 30s, Dynevor can successfully make it happen. Fans of the hit Netflix series Bridgerton know just how talented she is. In some ways, her character Daphne exuded modern-day Jean-like qualities. She was a bit wittier, something we likely wouldn’t see much of in an X-Men project from Jean, but she was also vulnerable yet determined.

Dynevor could play a version of Jean that is on the other side of learning who she is. She can make some mistakes in an effort to prove herself but ultimately show why she should be respected and some cases, feared.
