Yeah I know, at first glance Sam Witwer, doesn’t strike you as Professor X. However, to effectively portray the magnetic and influential Charles Xavier, an actor must possess a commanding presence and exude charisma.

Over the years, Witwer has proven these qualities throughout his career. Fans of his know him for his roles on TV playing morally complex characters in Being Human, Battlestar Galactica, Smallville, and Supergirl. However, Witwer’s memorable role in Star Wars: The Clone Wars took him to another level as the iconic Sith Lord.

Witwer seamlessly channeled the essence of Maul, showcasing a perfect blend of menace, charisma, and physicality. Witwer’s deep understanding of the character’s complex history, gained from his previous voice-acting work as Maul in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels, brought depth and authenticity to his portrayal.

Professor X is not only a charismatic leader but also a character with hidden intensity and depth. This experience proves that Witwer can embody the intricate layers of Professor X, bringing out the character’s complexities and internal struggles.

There are some underrated qualities of Professor X — his iconic voice and physical presence. Sam Witwer has a rich and commanding voice, capable of conveying the wisdom and authority expected of Professor X. While physical appearance is not the sole factor in casting, Witwer’s impressive presence can easily translate into the imposing stature of the character.
