Marvel: 7 actors we want to see play Professor X in the MCU
1. Giancarlo Esposito
There was no way this list would conclude without including the great and vastly underrated Giancarlo Esposito. Race bending is always a tough sell, and I get it, but Professor X, of all people, wouldn’t be as impacted. For example, a lot of fan cast has him playing a version of Magneto.
Sure, there’s a way to make it work by adjusting his cultural upbringing and his tortured past to something that fits Giancarlo Esposito. And we already know he is excellent at playing a bad guy/antagonist. However, the man is immensely talented with a range that is second to none. His version of Professor X would fit what fans of the comics are familiar with.
Charles Xavier is a man from New York who decided to help people who were like him. He wanted to fight the oppression of mutants by showing they could be heroes. Professor X is a complex character with a combination of slick yet stern, cunning yet caring.
Professor X is known for his stern demeanor and unwavering commitment to his cause. He can be strict and authoritative when necessary, especially when it comes to protecting mutants and promoting peaceful coexistence between humans and mutants. There’s no actor who can pull that off better than Esposito.
