Sony needs to bring the Spider-Verse’s Miles Morales to life for these three simple reasons
A chance for Shameik Moore to reprise his role.
One of the best things about Sony’s animated Spider-Verse films is the amazing voice work of the talented Shameik Moore. We all love his work; for years, he was an actor often fan-cast in the role of Static in a live-action Static Shock film. However, a live-action Miles Morales could allow him to reprise his role.
Moore recently expressed interest in his desire to take on the role in live-action. Shameik Moore is in his late 20s, which is nearly a decade older than his animated counterpart. A film that features an older version of the character could work. Yes, we all love the teenage Miles, but we’ve had a teenage Spider-Man with Andrew Garfield, then again in the MCU with Tom Holland. Now is the time to give us something a little more mature. Moore would absolutely kill it.
Fans of his know that he could pull it off with ease. Aside from the Spider-Verse films, his claim to fame came in another critically acclaimed coming-of-age film, Dope (2015). He showed off his martial skill and action ability in Netflix’s The Get Down (still mad they canceled this), where he played Shaolin Fantastic. Yeah, the awesomeness is in the name.
Moore has the look where he can balance a teenage Miles Morales in flashbacks. He’s proven through his voice work, which will automatically bring a fan base with him. The popularity of Miles Morales has grown significantly over the years, and in doing so, Moore’s stardom has as well.
