The 13 best episodes (and THE worst one) of Demon Slayer, ranked
2 – “Hinokami” – Season 1
Racing into second place and nabbing the silver medal is none other than “Hinokami” from the show’s debut season. This episode is a power-packed extravaganza, where we first get to witness the arrival of the Hashiras, the apex of the Demon Slayer Corps. This entry into the Demon Slayer narrative introduces us to a fresh wave of characters and heightens the complexity of the world that we’ve been lured into.
Then, there’s Giyu Tomioka, the Water Hashira, putting on a show-stopping spectacle of swordsmanship, cutting down the Father Spider Demon with a single, devastating strike. The thrill is further intensified when Shinobu Kocho, the Insect Hashira, gracefully appears in the nick of time, adding her unique charm to the mix. All these events amalgamate into a roller-coaster ride of wild emotions and breathtaking battles, leaving us starry-eyed and begging for more. This episode truly embodies the high-stakes, action-packed essence that Demon Slayer is renowned for.
1 – “Never Give Up” – Season 3
Here we are, folks, the grand champion of the Demon Slayer ring, the episode that seized the number one spot. “Never Give Up” from Season 3, an episode that embodies the very essence of our heroes’ indomitable spirit. This adrenaline-packed tour de force sees our beloved trio – Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke – refuse to let adversity dictate their fate, even when they’re pushed to the brink.
Caught in a tense stand-off against the formidable Daki and Gyutaro, their tenacity never wavers. They stand their ground, rising to the challenge, and striking a blow against the demons. They succeed in decapitating Daki and leaving Gyutaro injured, a remarkable feat that highlights the unyielding resolve of our demon slayers. This episode, much like its name, embodies the spirit of persistence and resilience, making it a deserving title holder of our number one spot.
But… as we know, no anime is perfect. That logic sadly applies to Demon Slayer as well.
There’s always that one episode that leaves a sour taste in your mouth or makes you a little cranky. The episode I’m touching on next is that episode for me when it comes to Demon Slayer.
