3 things we want to see when Wonder Woman comes to the DCU
1. Gal Gadot must return as Wonder Woman
It’s a bit unfortunate that Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot will not return as a duo for Wonder Woman 3. When Zack Snyder cast Gadot in Batman vs Superman, fans had their doubts. But the moment she took the screen in BvS and again in Wonder Woman, those who had doubts vanished with the Phantom Zone. Gadot solidified herself as the Wonder Woman for the modern era and generations to come.
So, no matter when Wonder Woman 3 comes out, Gadol should return as the titular hero. Universally fans know the 5’11 beauty as the Princess of Themyscira, the hero of her people, and the leader of the Amazons. Even after the DCEU’s impending demise, she featured in both Shazam Fury of the Gods and The Flash. Gunn has openly expressed that he isn’t recasting everyone. And Gadot also hasn’t held back her love for playing the hero.
"“I love portraying Wonder Woman… It’s so close to and dear to my heart. From what I heard from James and from Peter is that we’re gonna develop a ‘Wonder Woman 3’ together.”"
Wonder Woman 3 can be the film that serves as the catalyst to the next phase of Safran and Gunn’s DCU. With a hard reset, Wonder Woman could be the meta-voice for the fans as someone who remembers what was.
