7. Nicholas Hoult

When it comes to actors who have already proven that they can handle the world of superheroes, Nicholas Hoult is definitely on the list. Thanks to his role as Hank McCoy/Beast in the X-Men movies, we already know that he can bring a sense of gravity and strength to the big screen.

He has already showcased his superhero qualities, but thanks to some of his other roles, he has also shown us that he is well-rounded as someone who can be serious, comedic, and of course heroic. Hoult has repeatedly shown us that he has charm and charisma, which are things that would be nice to see in the next Superman.

We also have to point out that he has a presence on the screen that is hard to ignore and he might have brought something fresh to the DCU now that they are apparently moving away from the Snyderverse version of DC Comics. It also helps that he was considered to be a front-runner for the role of Batman before Robert Pattinson ultimately got the role. And that means that he is already a DC person, which is important for a lot of reasons (one of which is the fact that you want actors who want to be a part of this universe).

While we may never get to see Nicholas Hoult stepping into the iconic tights of Superman, we can still hold out hope for him joining the DCU in the future. Although we still think the Man of Steel would have been the perfect role for him.
