6. Paul Wesley

Superman might be a more nerdy character in his everyday persona of Clark Kent, but in his superhero moments, he has swagger. And that would have been brilliantly encompassed by Paul Wesley.

When it comes to interesting career paths, Wesley is definitely an actor who is hard to ignore. Not only has he given us the iconic vampire character Stefan Salvatore on The Vampire Diaries, but he is also playing a legendary Star Trek character thanks to Strange New Worlds. That’s right, Paul Wesley is our newest James T. Kirk.

And all of this matters because it is proof that in many ways Paul Wesley would have been perfect as the Man of Steel. Not only does he give off the hero vibes we would want, but he also does nerdy well too. He has a swagger and on-screen presence, which Superman needs, but it is not over the top.

Honestly, there is just something about Wesley that makes me think he would be a great superhero and in particular a perfect choice for Superman. The fact that he seems to really dedicate himself to his roles when he is portraying these characters is everything we want from a comic book hero. We want that Robert Downey Jr., who embraces the character and then brings him to life even off-screen. And that is something that I think Paul Wesley could easily do in the DCU.
