12. Darwin

Oh, Darwin, the X-Men film universe really dropped the ball with you, didn’t they? It’s almost like they didn’t bother to read your comic book storyline, or maybe they just didn’t care. Classic Fox move, really. How could they relegate such a compelling character to the sidelines? But hey, we watched the films anyway, even if they did Darwin dirty.

Remember X-Men: First Class? They showcased his power of adaptation, which is kind of his thing – not the overpowered kind, mind you, but the kind that makes him intriguing. His involuntary adaptation adds depth, yet they couldn’t quite grasp that. And let’s not forget his pivotal role in the Shi’ar Empire saga, where he went from being just another mutant to a savior of Professor X himself. That’s the potential Fox missed out on.

Sure, Fox may have glimpsed his greatness, but we X-Men fans knew he deserved better. It’s almost like they chose him just to treat him as an afterthought.

They might as well have given him the cold shoulder from the start. It’s a shame that in the cinematic universe, Darwin couldn’t adapt to the respect and recognition he truly deserves.
