3. Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle

Director: McG

Starring: Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu, and Cameron Diaz

Release Date: June 27, 2003

The second installment in the Charlie’s Angels franchise, Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle, is as silly as its predecessor was.

This entry was full of iconic cameos and additions to the franchise including Demi Moore playing the vengeful Madison Lee and the comedic assist from the late comedic actor Bernie Mac as Jimmy Bosley. Other memorable cameos featured Bruce Willis, Carrie Fisher, Pink, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Melissa McCarthy, The Pussycat Dolls, and one of the original Angels, Jaclyn Smith.

The sequel had many problems but mostly its messy plot carried it down the most. It puts our Angels in some of the wackiest moments and fight scenes which featured over-the-top special effects.

Drew, Lucy and Cameron have amazing chemistry together and work superbly on screen and it shows in their performances as the leads and the actresses do their best with their script and direction. While entertaining and at times laugh-out-loud hilarious, this sequel divided audiences up at the box office which may have potentially hurt the chance for these angels to have their own trilogy.
