Doctor Who: All 6 modern Doctors ranked from worst to best
By Ashley Hurst
5. Jodie Whittaker – The Fourteenth Doctor
When the BBC announced a female Doctor, some fans saw it as a poor creative decision, but the second Jodie Whittaker stepped into the TARDIS, she proved everyone wrong in style. Sweet, charming, and a breath of fresh air, Whittaker’s Doctor won over fans very quickly. Her positivity and optimistic outlook were a far stretch from the dourness of Peter Capaldi’s run that preceded her.
The issue with Whittaker’s Doctor isn’t exactly with the Doctor herself; she stands high against all the others. However, many fans cited a significant drop off in quality. Ratings for the show fell off massively, especially during the Flux story arc. Three episodes from her stint rank as the lowest-rated episodes from the entire series on IMDb. Harsh? A little.
Regardless, it’s hard not to love the family of companions she amassed and the chemistry they held. Between Yaz (Mandip Gill), Ryan (Tosin Cole), Graham (Bradley Walsh), and Dan (John Bishop), the show created one of the loveliest, most wholesome groups.
I must give a special mention to the interior of her TARDIS, too. It’s so bright and beautiful. Plus there’s a biscuit dispenser, so she gets some bonus points for that.
Best episode/s: Rosa, The Power of the Doctor.
