Marvel Comics announced the Moon Knight event Death of Marc Spector, but is this really the end of Khonshu’s fist?

Jed MacKay took over Moon Knight in Marvel Comics back in 2021. All twenty-five of his issues have perfectly continued the life of Marc Spector.

He’s evolved as a hero, teammate, and friend all while continuing to be the violent protector of travelers of the night. He’s defeated mercenaries, vampires, and even a sentient building.

Nevertheless, according to Marvel Comics, Marc Spector won’t be defeating death. In November, Marvel Comics will release a three-parter called The Death of Moon Knight.

Is Marvel killing Moon Knight?

In June, Moon Knight ventured to The Duat (City of the Dead) to retrieve an innocent soul. While there, Marvel fans witnessed the debut comic book debut of Layla El-Faouly. So far, Marc and Laya are still in The Duat. At the end of issue No. 2 of Moon Knight: City of the Dead, Marc is met by his little brother, Randall Spector. Randall has beaten Marc and holds a blade to his neck. Nevertheless, this isn’t where Marc dies. according to Marvel.com, Moon Knight’s death will come at the hands of the Black Spectre.

Marvel’s Instagram posted a picture with a moon as a clock. The text in that picture said, “The countdown to the death of Marc Spector continues!” The title of the series and the comments in the picture aren’t the same. Moon Knight can die with Marc not and vice versa. Jake Lockley and Steven Grant could survive the encounter while the other personas don’t.

The only issue is Khonshu. The Egyptian Moon God told Marc and Yehya Badr (Hunter’s Moon) that he couldn’t resurrect them again. A physical death could keep all of Marc’s personalities down for good. However, as comic book fans know, death is never permanent and issue titles can be deceiving.
