Resident Evil movies ranked

Resident Evil is one of the most popular video game IPs to date. From Japanese video game company, CAPCOM, the survival horror franchise made its debut with its first game Resident Evil back in 1996. This would be the first chapter in a long-running franchise with 10 core games and a handful of spin-offs spanning over various video game consoles.

CAPCOM has created its own gold mine with the Resident Evil franchise and it was only a matter of time before various studios attempted to bank off of that success by creating a number of films (and most recently a failed attempt at a live-action series from streaming giant Netflix).

Since 2002 there have been seven live-action feature films including a six-film series starring Milla Jovovich, four animated features, and a recent attempt to reboot the live-action films.

Movies based on popular video games have had a rough time with many being total failures and only a few deemed worthy of viewing. Resident Evil movies are notorious for splitting hardcore fans of the games and regular moviegoers. In this list we will rank all 11 Resident Evil movies, breaking them down from worst to best.
