2. Resident Evil: Degeneration

The first animated feature film for the Resident Evil franchise offered up a brilliant storyline that would make an awesome live-action feature. In Resident Evil: Degeneration we see the infamous virus spread throughout an airport infecting victims at an alarming rate. This concept alone is terrifying and seeing how it would play out here only drives interest for a live-action retelling of this chapter.

For this being the first animated feature-length film for the Resident Evil franchise it does come with its flaws but does well standing its ground. The story is the most engaging and scary out of its following entries.

Degeneration offers characters from the video games including Claire, Leon, and Ingrid with the original voice actors in the roles. This entry was a refreshing change for fans after having seen Resident Evil, Resident Evil: Apocalypse, and Resident Evil: Extinction the previous years seeing that these films had little to no ties to the actual game series.

Obviously, this movie was made definitely to cater more to the fans of the video games rather than those who enjoyed the live-action adaptations. Degeneration is definitely worth a watch for fans of animation and horror.
