11. Resident Evil: The Final Chapter
The final entry for the Milla Jovovich-led saga, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, has to be one of the poorest-performing entries for the franchise.
In this last film, we are shown a world where the T-virus has been spread to every corner of the globe urging Alice and her team including Claire Redfield to head to what used to be Raccoon City and attack the Umbrella Corps’ headquarters. The film offers a whopping mess of storytelling, continuity issues galore, and awful editing.
Fans of Milla Jovovich will no doubt enjoy seeing her in action and by all means she’s a great action star but these films rely heavily on the fact that she’s basically this franchise’s Wonder Woman. Like the previous Resident Evil movies, this sixth installment has an overwhelming amount of CGI which can be fun to look at only this film was shot in such a dark manner that it was often hard to watch and enjoy.
It’s a bit confusing as to why director Paul W.S. Anderson chose this style for the conclusion of his Resident Evil story but nonetheless, it was a choice for this “final” entry that left more questions than answers and the results proved that maybe it wasn’t for the best.
