4. Resident Evil: Extinction

Resident Evil: Extinction is high on this ranking for its fast-paced action and for introducing one of my personal favorite characters Claire Redfield.

Actress Ali Larter is cast as Claire here and although the film tries to differentiate her from her video game counterpart Ali Larter still gives her all in the role. This movie’s first half is probably the most exciting compared to all the films in the franchise and the Western style was a very nice touch and made for a welcomed change of tone.

Extinction is visually different and makes up of better use of its special effects, hordes of zombies and infected creatures and the incredible Milla Jovovich kicking ass as always this movie definitely has a lot going for it.

It feels like you’re on an epic roller coaster in every way with the anticipation kicking in once the ride is about to start and when you’re having fun with all the twists and turns it ultimately fizzles out way too soon falling into a weaker second half. The film struggles with continuity and plot issues but all in all, it’s fun as hell and a guilty pleasure to watch.
