The rumored Doctor Strange spin-off series is sparking up more discussions as more characters are added to the roster to appear in the show

A Doctor Strange Disney+ spin-off series was announced in January 2023 and would be inspired by the Strange Academy comics with stars Benedict Wong and Xochitl Gomez as Wong and America Chavez respectively. Rumors also indicated that the character of Zelma Stanton could also be making an appearance after her introduction in the Iron Heart series.

This new series if done right could be as massive a hit as was Loki and WandaVision. This series would focus more on the current Sorcerer Supreme Wong and take us on a much more magical side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and could offer some amazing visuals, and a way to bring in more magical characters from Marvel to the big screen.

Some of those characters have been added to the rumor mill. As these are all rumors for the time being take them with a grain of salt. As posted most recently by Twitter user @DrStrangeUpate who is known for sharing all related to Doctor Strange and keeping followers up to par here’s what they had to add also noting the series as “in development”

If Magik and Nico are truly to join Strange Academy this would be a great way to bring back Anya Taylor Joy who already played Magik in The New Mutants film. Anya was probably the best thing to come from this film and she definitely sold it as Magik with her performance.

As for Nico, Lyrica Okano should reprise the role she played in the Marvel series Runaways. Both actresses and characters have a huge fan base and would fare well for the series. As for Brother Voodoo, this would be a perfect fit for actor Daveed Diggs to join the MCU if he’s not already cast in the upcoming Fantastic Four film.

Strange Academy is still in development and is suspected to be released prior to the release of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
