Jujutsu Kaisen

Yeah, you knew this was coming, didn’t you?

Just think about it: fun and diverse cursed techniques, epic battles, and intricate story arcs that make Jujutsu Kaisen one of the (if not the) best anime series out there currently, but this time with real people. You would be absolutely lying right now if you wouldn’t squeal at seeing the gorgeous Gojo Satoru in person, with those mesmerizing and perfect ocean-blue eyes lifting his blindfold just to stare at you through the screen, preparing his Limitless Technique. I know I would be, but you know that.

Gojo’s swag and sheer strength make him one of the most captivating characters in anime, and by casting him perfectly in a live-action adaptation, preferably the

absolutely dreamy

talented Taz Skylar. Even more viewers would be awed by his sheer level of power. I mean, it’s totally doable to recreate Gojo’s Limitless and those jaw-dropping Domain Expansions perfectly with the right amount and quality of CGI.

Plus, we all know how deep Jujutsu Kaisen goes. It’s not all about the fighting – it’s about the emotions, the friendships, the tough choices everyone has to face and their consequences, and finally, the humor. Yuji, Megumi, Nobara, and the whole crew have such great chemistry and individual arcs that could easily resonate with a broader audience if brought into live-action. Jujutsu Kaisen tackles really heavy themes like death, destiny, and the consequences of one’s actions but does so in a way that still includes slapstick humor and heartwarming moments (the recent episode “It’s Like That” is… exactly like that).

A well-crafted live-action adaptation could take all these elements and make them even more relatable and entertaining, again, if done right.

So there you have it – my dream lineup of anime series that are just begging for the live-action treatment they deserve. While we might have our reservations thanks to past adaptations that completely missed the mark, there’s no denying the massive potential these series hold, especially in seeing how Netflix managed to just nail One Piece.

These unique IPs offer rich worlds, diverse characters, and tales that could easily translate into live-action. Until the day comes when these dreams become a reality, I’ll be here, snuggling my Gojo plushie while wearing my Gojo sweatpants under my Nezuko blanket while I eat ramen from my Demon Slayer ramen bowl and watch my Collector’s Edition DVDs of the 2001 Fruits Basket, rewatching my favorite episodes and keeping my fingers crossed.
