X-Men: Marvel Comics announced the return of Magneto in 2024

Marvel Comics announces the resurrection of X-Men favorite Magneto is coming in 2024.

Back, in X-Men Red No. 7, Magento died fighting Uranos (Thanos’ great-uncle). Storm begrudgingly honored Max’s wishes and didn’t put him in the Krakoan Resurrection Protocols.

Of all the deaths the X-Men have gone through, this could have been the hardest to deal with. He became one of the most loyal and protective mutants to Krakoa. So much so that he was willing to give up his seat on the Quiet Council if it made the mutant nation better.

It’s been months since Magneto died. Since then, mutants of Krakoa and Arrako have been attacked and killed by Orchis (Fall of X). Something that may have been prevented if Magneto was alive. Well, as comic book fans know, no one stays dead. Marvel Comics announced that the Master of Magnetism would return in 2024.

With mutant backs against the wall, now is the right time to bring Magneto back. As we’ve seen, he’s willing to die to protect mutants, but is he willing to live? Max didn’t want to come back. His return could be needed. He could tip the scales back in the favor of the X-Men and mutants. Nevertheless, this could put a strain on his relationships. Knowing Storm, she’s not going to hide his wishes from her friend. Even if Max doesn’t remember, she’ll feel obligated to let him know. It will be interesting to see how he reacts to coming back and what Orchis has done.

Marvel Comics reported that writer Al Ewing (Immortal Hulk, X-Men Red) and artist Luciano Vecchio (Spider-Man, Hellfire Gala) will, “bring Magneto home to the X-Men.” Marvel also said that more will be revealed during the 2023 New York Comic-Con. Maybe that’s where fans will find out how he returns from the grave. Did The Five survive and bring him back? Was it something supernatural instead of mutant science?
