10. The DCEU Batcave

Sometimes you can streamline something a little too much. This is the best way of describing the Batcave that we see in the DC Extended Universe movies. That doesn’t mean that it isn’t easy on the eye (because it is), but this Batcave’s problem is that it’s too easy on the eye. It’s less of a cave, and more of an apartment.

Debuting in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, it completely lacks any kind of cave-like elements, opting instead for a high-quality design, which includes glass walls surrounding the staircase leading down to it, glass panels covering up all of the equipment and gadgets and, well, more glass. It’s lovely to look at, but again, it just doesn’t look like a Batcave. At all.

There is the Batmobile, the Batcomputer, and the Bat-gadgets, and we also have a beautiful (and very well-lit) driveway for the Batmobile, but it just lacks the essence of the Batcave itself. Yes, it’s feasible, yes it’s nice, but it isn’t the Batcave.

To its credit, it gets more cave-like in Justice League, but there was still a lot of work needed to give it the identity it needed.
