6 Star Wars characters we’d bring back from the dead (and 4 we wouldn’t)
Jabba the Hutt
While it goes without saying that Jabba the Hutt is one of the most iconic characters in the Star Wars universe, that doesn’t mean we like him! Known for his unsavory activities, Jabba is the ruler of Tatooine’s criminal underworld, frequently conducting illegal activities from smuggling to enslavement. Depicted as a sluggish creature with a distinctive voice, Jabba is quite a memorable character. As is his death, which can’t come too soon!
Unlike some of the villains in Star Wars who are majorly complicated and layered, Jabba is just straight-up bad. He’s sadistic and only thinks of himself, and his treatment of Leia is particularly unforgivable.
Jabba the Hutt’s demise comes in Return of the Jedi after Luke and Han Solo carry out a plan to rescue Leia. During a standoff at Jabba’s palace that sees characters being thrown into the Sarlacc pit, things are not looking too good for our heroes. Fortunately, however, Leia is able to strangle Jabba with the chain he used to enslave her, successfully killing him and saving the day.
Jabba’s death is a huge moment in Star Wars and a major victory for the Rebel Alliance. Who would ever want to bring him back from the dead?
VERDICT: Leave dead
