6 Star Wars characters we’d bring back from the dead (and 4 we wouldn’t)
Luke Skywalker
The one who started it all. The most iconic and beloved character in the Star Wars franchise, and one of the most recognizable characters in all sci-fi media, Luke is the central protagonist in the original movies and in turn one of the more important characters in the sequel trilogy. I’m so glad Mark Hamill decided to reprise his role as Luke in the later films, along with Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford.
Starting off as a young man living on the desert planet of Tatooine, Luke dreams of a more exciting life. As he gets involved with the Rebel Alliance, he eventually finds out he’s actually the son of Darth Vader, making him a Jedi full of potential. He follows a classic hero journey, and it’s impossible not to root for Luke. His Jedi training by Obi-Wan and Yoda is absolutely awesome, along with his complex relationship with his father.
Luke is full of hope, and fans can’t help but grow attached to him over the movies. That’s why his death in The Last Jedi is so painful, though it is a beautiful scene. Even though it’s his time to go in the franchise, I wish we could see more of him.
VERDICT: Bring back
