5. Storm

Who doesn’t love Storm? Put your hand down if you raise it—not talking to you. We need to see the weather-wielding mutant, the X-Men legend, as a major character. Having her in the first movie won’t do her any justice.

Her backstory is a rollercoaster ride through mutant drama. From a young thief in Cairo to a goddess in Kenya, her journey is epic. But it’s her leadership and regal demeanor that makes her unlike any other X-Men. Naturally, when Halle Berry was cast in the role, fans had high expectations. After all, we all knew how pivotal Storm was to the team. And the 97’ animated series did her justice.

The great Halle Berry did her best with what she had in the movies, but they couldn’t capture Storm’s true essence. It wasn’t her fault. She was given a trash script, no actual story. You’d think Fox would have better plans for the iconic character, right? Well, we were wrong, and let down once again. Once again it wasn’t the actress’s fault. Alexandra Shipp was a solid choice to portray the role, but the story was meh.

We want more Storm, more lightning, more tornadoes, and definitely more “Do you know what happens when a toad gets struck by lightning?” moments.

In the MCU, let’s hope Storm reigns supreme, bringing the thunder and lightning like never before. The best way to introduce Storm would be in her homeland, teaming with Professor X, who asks for her help to save the X-Men. I know, genius,
