6 X-Men characters we don’t want to see in Marvel’s first X-Men movie
1. Wolverine
Argue with yourselves because we’ve seen Wolverine and Hugh Jackman for over a decade. Fans love Wolverine, and Disney knows this, that’s why we’re going to see the great Hugh Jackman once again.
After years of Ryan Reynolds begging his friend to reprise his role, Jackman obliged. We’ll see the dynamic duo appear in Deadpool 3, an MCU R-rated film—how scandalous. Fans are already speculating about which version of Wolverine we’ll see. Will this be Hugh Jackman, playing himself, forced to play the role of a hero? Will this Wolverine be the live-action version of the 97 animated series? No one knows, but we are excited. With that said, this should mean we don’t see Wolverine for the first X-Men film.
We need a film based on the original team. Wolverine wasn’t part of it. Wolverine has become a staple and face of the X-Men, and a special attraction—so treat him as such. He’s a guy who deserves an introduction in a movie where he becomes a hero for the heroes but throws a wrench in some plans.
Wolverine arrived as a stranger and disrupted the group dynamics, but Jean and Professor X still wanted to help him. On top of that, his humanity was often linked to Jubilee. Something we did not see from Fox. There are layers Fox failed to explore and the MCU can fix—don’t rush him. They can do one of those famous post-credit scenes showing him in a cowboy hat, brown jacket, a shot where he’s looking over his shoulder at a potential victim as he slowly protracts his claws.
