Marvel Comics writer Jason Aaron will take his talents to DC Comics to write Superman.

There are certain comic book writers whose names will always garner attention. For the last decade, Jason Aaron has been on that list. Wolverine, The Avengers, and Doctor Strange are only three of the amazing Marvel titles he’s written. His greatest achievement may be his run of Thor.

Jason Aaron took the God of Thunder’s character for seven years and broke him down. He made Jane Foster a more than formidable Thor, as well. When it was over, Thor Odinson was more powerful than ever. Now, Aaron will bring his talents to DC Comics to write Superman.

During the 2023 New York Comic-Con, DC Comics reported big things will happen to Superman in 2024. Among them are the creative team of Jason Aaron and artist John Timms (Batman Incorporated and Harley Quinn). DC Comics also said that their story will feature everyone’s favorite backward clone, Bizarro.

Switching writers isn’t normally important news. This happens frequently in comics. However, the announcement taking place at New York Comic-Con means something. Thor wasn’t the only character Jason Aaron broke down. He did during his run of Doctor Strange. It can’t be a coincidence that he did this to two of Marvel’s most powerful characters. Aaron may likely do the same for the Man of Steel. It worked in Superman: Warworld Apocalypse. There’s no reason it can’t be successful again.

Another important thing to note is Aaron doesn’t just make characters weak. His run of Darth Vader is a perfect example. Star Wars fans are among the most opinionated groups and they didn’t have anything negative to say about the job he did. In fact, “Vader Down” is one of the best representations of Darth Vader of all time. He was strong, methodical, and cruel. It could be better than the movies. Imagine what Jason Aaron will do with Superman, Lois Lane, and the rest of the Super Family.

There is one negative part. We’ll have to wait until 2024 to see what he does with Superman.
