Batman: All 14 Robin actors ranked from worst to best
2. Curran Walters
There’s an irony in the fact that a Boy Wonder so near the top of this list didn’t actually play Dick Grayson but that’s more of a testament to how well Curran Walters embodied Jason Todd than anything else. Portraying the second Bird Boy on Titans, Walters became the first ever actor to bring the wayward Todd to life and he has absolutely smashed the role thus far – something that was abundantly clear from his very first appearance.
A recurring presence in the first season, he sunk his teeth into every moment of screen-time that he got, ensuring that he left fans craving so much more of him. That’s what made it so darn fulfilling when he was promoted to a regular for the second – an opportunity he made the most of.
The truth is that Walters is nothing like the traditional Robin – and that’s what makes him the perfect Jason Todd. He’s moody, erratic, quick-witted and downright electric on-screen – traits we’ve come to associate with the character’s comic-book counterpart.
Seeing Walters finally get the chance to shine when Jason evolved into Red Hood in the show’s third season was a wonderful moment, but it was also bittersweet because it meant saying goodbye to his Robin – who has, in all honesty, become the show’s most alluring and interesting character.
Walters embodies Jason Todd to perfection and it has been a joy to watch his Robin come to life on our screens. He’s one of the things we’ll miss most when Titans bows out for good.
