Batman: All 10 Bane actors ranked from worst to best
7, 8, 9. The three different Banes in The Batman
Like most of our Batman rankings, you’ll find the most underrated version of Bane to be The Batman‘s adaptation of the character. That animated series was underrated on a whole, and Bane was one of its most interesting villains.
He was something of a recurring presence throughout its five-season run, ensuring he was never far from fans’ minds. But what wasn’t as well known was that he was actually voiced by three different actors throughout his various appearances. Joaquim de Almeida was tasked with bringing him to life in his first appearance in “Traction”, while Ron Perlman brought him back for “Team Penguin”, and Clancy Brown (who typically played Mr Freeze on the show) voiced him in “The Batman/Superman Story”.
This Bane is definitely the sum of his parts, because all three performers were great in the role, making sure there was consistency in how Bane sounded. And how he sounded was terrifying. With a bellowing voice that matched his monstrously large physique when pumped up on venom, he was an intimidating presence on the show that always significantly upped the stakes. That was helped by the fact that his first appearance (in the show’s second ever episode) instantly solidified him as one of The Batman’s most unstoppable adversaries.
