9. Ahsoka Tano

Surprise, surprise! In a galaxy of character rankings from far, far away, one might find Ahsoka Tano towards the bottom of the list about characters in her very own show. It’s a head-scratcher, isn’t it? Ahsoka, with her electrifying presence and captivating journey through the Star Wars universe, has always been a fan favorite. So, how did she end up on this spot?

Our journey with Ahsoka began in the animated shows, brought to life by the talented Ashley Eckstein in Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008). Ahsoka’s adventures continued in the animated series of the same name, along with appearances in Star Wars: Forces of Destiny (2017 — 2018) and even Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi (2022). Adapting her character into the live-action arena is as tricky as you’d expect for any other character – they all have their mannerisms, their quirks, certain physical attributes or looks that make them the iconic figures they are.

When it comes to Ahsoka’s character, it seems that a few precious elements got lost along the way. Rosario Dawson, an incredibly gifted actress by any measure, found herself in the midst of a character that lacked the enchantment, charisma, and soul that fans had come to adore. The only time we see even a ghost of the Ahsoka we know would be after episode 5, “Shadow Warrior”, after she’s encountered Anakin and gets some of that pep back in her walk.

Slightly disappointing.

8. Jacen Syndulla

Ah, Jacen Syndulla, the young Jedi hopeful. If we’re being honest, it’s a bit of a challenge to pin down just where he falls on the Ahsoka character spectrum. Jacen’s appearances in the series are rare, brief, and infrequent. But the reason he’s not lounging in the lower echelons of my rankings is because, well, he doesn’t exactly mess things up either. He’s like the trusty astromech droid that doesn’t cause any malfunctions on your spaceship, but he’s not the snazzy, charismatic R2-D2 stealing the show either.

However, let’s not jump to conclusions just yet. We’re waiting to see what lies ahead for Jacen’s future. Who knows – in upcoming adventures, he might just save the day (again) with his Force abilities. I do hope to see him train and master those, eventually becoming the Jedi his father would have become himself.
