Episode 7 recap and ending

Gen V season 1, episode 7, titled “Sick,” is one of the best episodes of the first season, and it sets everything in motion for the season finale, along with The Boys season 4.

In “Sick,” Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit) arrives at Godolkin University while on the campaign trail. She’s in line to be Vice President of the United States, which would be a huge step for Supes. After her rally, she meets with Marie (Jaz Sinclair) and reveals that she, like Marie, also has hemokinetic abilities, although very few people actually know that.

As we learn in the previous episode, Dean Shetty (Shelley Conn) is on a mission to destroy the world of Supes as we know it after her family was killed in the plane crash caused by Homelander in The Boys, and she’s taking it one step further. She meets with Grace Mallory (Laila Robins), who fans will recognize from her work with Butcher and the Boys in The Boys, to really get things going, but Grace turns her down and calls her plan genocide.

Back at Godolkin, Marie, Jordan (Derek Luh and London Thor), Emma (Lizze Broadway), Sam (Asa Germann), and the rest of the gang have put the pieces together about what’s happening in the Woods, and they want to expose what Dean Shetty has been doing, with the help of Cate (Maddie Phillips).

It all goes down at Shetty’s house, though. The heroes of the season meet there, and Cate takes things into her own hands. She orders Shetty to cut her own throat, and there goes the season’s big bad.

The episode ends with Victoria murdering Dr. Cardosa, who has just turned over the last of the virus he was making at the request of Dean Shetty.

In this topsy-turvy world, it’s unclear where exactly the show will go from here. We have all the students in the Woods, who have been exposed to a deadly virus (for Supes). We know they, along with Sam, want to take the university down, but it looks like Marie and others might be trying to stop Godolkin’s destruction. We’ll see how it all ends in the season finale!

Gen V is already renewed for season 2

Normally, we have to wait to find out what’s next for a new show like Gen V until after the full season airs, but that’s not that case. In October, Amazon announced Gen V season 2 is happening. The series was renewed for another season. It’s not necessarily surprising given the success of the first season. As a spinoff of The Boys, Gen V not only lived up to the hype, but the show surpassed it.

According to a report from Variety, Eric Kripke, the executive producer of the series, confirmed writing has started on Gen V season 2. Unfortunately, because of the actors’ strike, it’s unclear when production will start on season 2. If filming doesn’t start soon, we could be waiting quite a long time until season 2 is released on Prime Video.

Enjoy the Gen V season 1 finale on Thursday, Nov. 2 (for those who live in the US and Canada), and Friday, Nov. 3. Stay tuned for more news about Gen V season 2.
