The God of Mischief dazzled his way back onto screens in the second season of Marvel Studios’ Loki. The series was a huge success in 2021 when it made its Disney Plus debut, so expectations were high, and it’s safe to say that the second season has exceeded them thus far.

Loki season 2 focuses heavily on the aftermath of the events of the season 1 finale, in which Sylvie caused a huge rift after killing He Who Remains. It’s up to Loki, Mobius M. Mobius, Hunter B-12, and the rest of the Time Variance Authority to set things right, and they might even get a little bit of help from Sylvie along the way.

How many episodes are in Loki season 2?

Loki season 2 consists of six episodes. If you’ve been keeping with all of the previous Marvel Cinematic Universe shows, you’ve probably noticed that almost all of them tend to go with a six-episode count, including Loki‘s first season.

Six episodes keeps things tight and allows these miniseries / shows to function like mini six-part movies, giving the story enough room to breathe without dragging things out too much.

Thus far, the only exceptions to the six-episode run from Marvel Studios have been WandaVision, What If…?, and She-Hulk: Attorney At Law – all of which have had nine episodes.

Loki season 2 release schedule

Loki season 2 has been releasing new episodes on Disney Plus each Thursday night. While it’s not the first Marvel Studios show to stream episodes on a Thursday (She-Hulk: Attorney At Law did it first), it is the first to unveil new episodes during primetime, taking its cues from Star Wars show Ahsoka (which became Disney Plus’ first ever series to air in primetime).
