3. Commander Deanna Troi (Starship Enterprise-D)

Appeared in: Star Trek: The Next Generation

Our favorite Betazoid, Commander Deanna Troi, sits pretty (pun intended because she’s gorgeous) as the No. 3 choice on our list.

Now, Deanna might primarily wear the hat (or Starfleet uniform) of the ship’s counselor aboard the Enterprise-D in Star Trek: The Next Generation, but there’s been a time or two when she’s taken a spin in the first officer’s chair. And you know what? She absolutely rocked it.

Her unique Betazoid abilities mean she can sense emotions, and that’s like having a superpower in the world of starship diplomacy and decision-making. Imagine being in a tough negotiation with an alien species and having a secret emotional compass on your side, guiding the way. Beyond convenient.

What sets Deanna apart is that she brings something entirely different to the table. Instead of the traditional command and tactical skills, she offers emotional intelligence, compassion, and insight. Her empathic abilities aren’t just about feeling what others feel – they’re about understanding, bridging gaps, and making the Enterprise-D a ship where everyone’s voice and heart matter.

Deanna could go above and beyond as commander, and it was great to see her in the role on the occasions that she took it on.
