The next Marvel show after Loki season 2 is coming sooner than you think
Loki season 2 has come to an end, so when can we expect to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the next show?
Hard as it is to believe, we’ve come to the end of Loki season 2. The Marvel Cinematic Universe series was the second of the Disney Plus outings to premiere this year, coming after June’s Secret Invasion. To say that it has been worth the wait would be an understatement.
The show’s popularity and success has been welcome, but not unexpected given how popular the God of Mischief is. The second season also upped the ante over its first season, delivering more shocking moments and taking the MCU story in some surprising directions.
As fans wait and see what’s next for the series, all sights will turn to the next Marvel show coming to the streamer. And we’ve good news for you, it’s coming sooner than you might think. Better yet, it’s not the only one.
What is the next Marvel show after Loki season 2?
If you’re ready for more Marvel, you’ll be glad to know that Loki season 2 wasn’t the last of the Marvel Studios shows to premiere on Disney Plus this year. As it stands, animated series What If…? is currently expected to premiere its second season during the holiday period. Marvel will likely pin down a more definitive release date in the coming weeks.
Adding to the excitement, live-action series Echo will debut shortly afterwards, with all five episodes arriving on the streamer on January 10, 2024. This will be a first for the MCU TV era (and Disney Plus itself) as the Hawkeye spinoff will become the very first Disney Plus original series to launch all of its episodes on the same day – a format that fellow streaming service Netflix is renowned for. It will also arrive on Hulu on the very same day.
The show will also be making history as the first MCU property to be rated TV-MA, meaning that it will be incredibly mature and violent. This is something that Echo‘s very first trailer, which featured the returns of Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin and Charlie Cox’s Daredevil, showcased. It’s also set to be the beginning of a new chapter for the MCU, which could be about to tell more mature storylines going forward.
If you’re still craving more MCU, then you should also know that the shared universe of superheroes are returning to the big screen this weekend, as The Marvels is in theaters from Friday, November 10.
