Kraven the Hunter

Kraven the Hunter is in the exact same boat here as Madame Web. It’s another one of Sony’s upcoming Marvel movies based on Spider-Man characters, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been tasked with bringing the legendary comic book hunter to life.

It’s not Taylor-Johnson’s first superhero and / or action movie, and that could very well work in Kraven‘s favor. The star has been involved in some major box office successes throughout his career, including Kick-Ass, Kick-Ass 2Godzilla, and Avengers: Age of Ultron, so it’s safe to say that he’s a bit of a reliable action hero. Heck, he shined so brightly in the Kraven trailer, and his ferocious performance is one of the many reasons we’re all looking forward to it.

The trailer went a long way in exciting audiences for Kraven, especially those who weren’t feeling the idea of a Kraven movie in the first place. It looks like it’s going to be a real thriller. The only problem is that it was released back in June 2023. The actual movie doesn’t come out until August 2024. That’s a super long wait. Of course, there will be other trailers before then, but the delay from January to August does risk it fading from people’s minds.

The other thing that might work against it is the same thing that might actually work in Madame Web‘s favor: Budget. The budget for Kraven is reportedly $130 million, which means that it’s going to have some high expectations to meet at the box office. The fact that it’s set to be rated R could work against that as it limits the audience to adults when a large portion of comic book movies’ primary audiences are younger.

There is a case to be made for Kraven the Hunter going either way, but we’re hoping it’s a success!
