There are a lot of exciting movies coming our way next year but these upcoming entries could find themselves in danger of cancellation in 2024.

2024 brings with it plenty of new and exciting opportunities. That much is true for all aspects of life, but it can also be applied to the world of entertainment.

The new year will see the release of some major movies, including Deadpool 3, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, Alien: Romulus, and Joker: Folie à Deux. Needless to say that excitement is high, and even though it’s the first year in a long time to feature just one Marvel Studios movie and one DC movie, we’re excited for what’s to come from both studios.

That said, there is also a nervousness surrounding some titles that might end up getting cancelled. It’s not something that typically happens with movies, but after Warner Bros. Discovery cancelled Batgirl in 2022, the landscape has been forever altered.

Taking that into account, there are some movies whose fates seem a little uncertain and that could result in their cancellations. Some are at the mercy of changes in the wider universe they are part of, while others have gone completely quiet… too quiet. With that in mind, let’s take a look at some in-development movies that could end up getting cancelled in 2024.
