As 2024 comes to an end, it's time to accept we might not see these 4 shows again.

Skeleton Crew

Considering that Skeleton Crew has been met with solid reviews, our hope is that Disney will renew the series for a second season which would keep the show around; however, our faith in Disney not to cancel promising series within the Star Wars Universe has taken a hit this year.

The Acolyte was a phenomenal show and it absolutely should have gotten a chance to return for a second season, but Disney instead opted to cancel the show. Reports suggest the series didn’t quite live up to Disney’s expectations and wasn’t the hit they hoped it would be, which is why they ultimately canceled the show after just one season.

On the surface, Skeleton Crew seems to be performing well for Disney but we have to wonder if it too might be underperforming by company standards – standards that are hard to keep up with when there isn’t as much transparency with viewership stats.

Our hope would be that Disney will renew Skeleton Crew for a second season and there have been reports suggesting that there are ideas for another season. However, there is a chance that once its first season signs off the air, it could be the last time we see the show’s characters again.

Note: Skelton Crew’s first season will bleed into the first few weeks of 2025, so technically we will get to see the show beyond 2024 but our concern isn’t about finishing the season but rather whether the show will have a shelf life beyond its first season.
