The Penguin

Including The Penguin on this list is a hard one; however, the sad truth is that it seems very unlikely we’re going to get a second season of HBO’s breakout drama.

Set within Matt Reeves’ Batman universe, The Penguin made quite a splash this year thanks in large part to the incredible performances of Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti, who fittingly have already begun getting nominated for their work on the show. Fans are hungry for more and want a second season, but sadly it seems the plan at the moment was for the show to be a limited series that helps bridge the gap between The Batman and The Batman II.

Does that mean we might not eventually see another show set within the same universe or get to see more of The Penguin? No, however, it seems highly unlikely that another season will be happening.

The creative team behind the hit series has been pretty candid about the show being designed as a limited series and it’s quite telling that the show is competing in the Limited Series races including at the Golden Globes. After all, if a second season was being developed, the show would need to shift into the drama race and that has not been the case.
