The Boys season 5 is set to bring the superhero series to a close, and fans can expect a very bloody end to the story. The hit Amazon Prime show has never been shy about its brutality and high body count, but as the story reaches its climax, it is obvious that not all of the main characters are going to survive the final confrontation.
While The Boys franchise continues to grow with new spinoffs, the finale will mark the end of the journey for several key characters. There are some beloved characters who we can safely assume will get to live on, but several others are destined to die in the final season of The Boys.

The Deep
The Deep has been a detestable character from the beginning and hasn't improved much in that time. Though he seemed to think he was on a redemption arc, he proved that he was only interested in serving himself and regaining the power that he lost as a member of The Seven.
While The Deep might often be terrified by Homelander's evil plans, he is completely on board with them, preferring to be on his side rather than fighting against him. It is unlikely he is going to change anytime soon, so it would be fitting if The Deep paid for his opportunistic ways and died without ever really making his own choices.

A-Train
While The Deep's redemption is a fraud, A-Train seems to genuinely be on a path of bettering himself. He has done some terrible things in the past, but he is finally starting to admit to himself that Vought is evil and that he can be a true hero to his community by fighting back against them.
Unfortunately, this arc also makes it seem like he will have to die a hero's death in the end. A-Train making a final sacrifice and dying to save Hughie or Starlight would complete his journey as a hero and also serve as a way to make amends for the innocent lives he took, like Robyn.

Frenchie
While we're hoping for a victory for the heroes of The Boys, it seems inevitable that not all of them will survive. Leading into the finale, there is likely going to be at least one major death that will raise the stakes and make the final battle even more emotional for those who are left.
There are plenty of strong candidates for who this doomed hero might be, but it feels like Frenchie is the most obvious choice. Frenchie is a kind-hearted member of The Boys who has also been battling his own demons in recent seasons. It feels like this is a setup for him to die protecting the people he loves and, like A-Train, making up for some of his past mistakes.

Homelander
Homelander has become one of the greatest TV villains of all time, and a large part of how effective he is comes from the fact that he is seemingly unstoppable. He is known as perhaps the most powerful "supe" on the planet, and unfortunately for everyone else on the planet, he has no desire to use that power for good.
However, The Boys just wouldn't feel complete in the end if it didn't finally depict Homelander's end. With so many spinoffs to The Boys universe, there might be some temptation to bring him back for more, but that would be a mistake and would rob the audience of the satisfaction of seeing this evil character finally realize that he's lost.

Billy Butcher
It is hard to imagine how Homelander will be brought down in the end, but we can pretty much rest assured that it will be Billy Butcher who is responsible. Since the beginning of the show, Butcher has had a vicious vendetta against Homelander, and in many ways, the entire series has been building to the final bloody confrontation between the two.
It's a strong likelihood that Butcher, with his new and horrifying powers, will kill Homelander in the end, but he is also not going to survive the finale. This has basically been guaranteed already with Butcher's terminal diagnosis. It is also a path Butcher has been on for a while now. He is in antihero mode, even going against the rest of The Boys. His destructive path may bring him victory, but at the cost of his own life.
